Foiano,Italy Carnevale 2008

Another Carnevale celebration in a small hilltown in Tuscany. The floats are over 3 stories high with amazing moving parts, blaring music and special effects. They barely fit through the narrow medieval streets. A few sides were knocked off by protruding balconies but this didn't stop them!

These guys/gals were hilarious and Ms Princess paraded around the Florian Cafe all night-very full of herself-rightly so!

I don't think he was too happy about being dressed up in costume with all the papparazzi attacking him!!! But he did cooperate for the moment

Venice 2008

More pics of Venice Carnevale. These were taken at the church S.Giorgio which is an island across from St Marks Square. There was a big photo shoot going on there with a large group of French people in costume and the photographers were also French. Must have been a special group from there. It was at dusk and the lighting was magical

Here are some scenes from Venice Carnevale 2008. St Mark's Cathedral is spectacular at night. It rained most of the week but managed to get a few sunny days and good shots of costumes.
